Here’s the (mostly) final mix of my new new track, Why? from my forthcoming EP / Album. The principal idea behind the lyrical content of this track (once they are completed and the vocals added) is the question “why am I allowing myself to be mentally manipulated / abused?”

This is a very early mix of the beginning (1:30) of the track My Sweet Release and will be the closing track on my EP following on from Ten Cent Suicide. This is meant to be a more emotive song and will be about looking back at the main characters lead up to their suicide – a dead retrospective you could say.
Ten Cent Suicide is the first full length original song from my forthcoming EP – Prellusion. This song deals with how life has become so cheap that people are blasé about the many forms of suicide people use to end their own lives. We hear about death and suicide so regularly in the media, social networks or during our everyday lives that many people feel disconnected to the tradgedy. Not a happy topic, but the whole Suicide concept seems to be a theme running through my writing at the moment.
An early representation of my favorite Steve Vai track. This started out as a test for the awesome JamUpPro app on the iPad and will hopefully end up as the full track (or my take on it anyway).
Backing is the Steve Vai Naked Tracks version of the song.
No mixing or mastering on the guitar track, and still a few bits that I need to overdub to be totally happy with 🙂
New version of the backing to the Prellusion intro with added strings section – No lead guitar work on this version.
