After the initial phot session with my better half, LJ. I decided it was time to give it another go with some new equipment I’d purchased recently.
As before, the images were shot in the living room using the equipment outlined above as well as a Nikon SB600 through the shoot through umbrella and a Nikon D300 camera.
The simple setup was the soft-box set high camera left with the SB900 and the SB600 set on camera right as a highlight/hair light and then used a large gold reflector to bounce some light back under the chin.
Most of the initial shots were a case of trial and error until I found a lighting ratio that produced good results as well as a good shooting angle and poses.
The best images were taken from a high vantage point, with me stood on drum stool shooting down.
